An fifteen-year-old adolescent has been sentenced to life incarceration with a lowest period of sixteen years for the killing of another schoolmate the victim during a lunch break.

The perpetrator pierced Harvey, who was also 15, into the chest with a hunting knife at Sheffield's learning facility in February.

The presiding justice lifted the identity protection restriction on the killer during the punishment phase at Sheffield Crown Court.

Caroline Willgoose stated she felt "like a large burden has been lifted off my shoulders" following the judgment.

Throughout the trial, Khan testified he had not meant to cause death to the victim or cause him significant damage, stating he could not remember what had transpired.

The state maintained that he had "intended to demonstrate he was hard" and "knew exactly what he was carrying out".

"You were the instigator and... you behaved in distress and fury at what you viewed to be his betrayal of your bond," pronounced the judge during the judgment.

The educational institution issued a message expressing that the student was "dearly mourned every day by the complete school community".

Investigators stressed the catastrophic outcomes of carrying knives, observing that a "instantaneous action" can forever alter various futures.
