Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying over a crowded coastal beach suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Recordings posted online depict the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then descending towards the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Information on their injuries were not yet released.
