The former president's Granddaughter Gets Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf Debut

Emerging athlete getting ready for significant competition

This young athlete maintains substantial online following

Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known cheerleaders when she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she revealed.

She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"He practically told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.

"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, Kai has competed in a mere three competitions in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in AJGA standings.

Yet she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Vanessa.

"He stands as the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.

"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He advised me to go out there, have fun, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Officials mentioned that Kai's presence exposes the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching youth audiences.

Kai maintains a massive following and has started a personal apparel and wellness brand.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
